In June 2006 cmRENT became members of ARLA, the Association of Residential letting Agents.
ARLA is the leading professional and regulatory body in the UK exclusively for letting agents in the Private Rented Sector. ARLA members are required to comply with a Code of Practice and to have staff in their branches with suitable industry qualifications. ARLA provides information, support and training to keep members up to date with the latest legislation. ARLA has strict rules on how agent members handle and deal with their client's money and bank accounts must be regularly audited. Each member firm is covered by the Association's Client Money Protection Bonding Scheme which safeguards client monies from any misappropriations of funds or claims of bankruptcy and every member firm has to have adequate Professional Indemnity Insurance Said Adrian Turner, Chief Executive of ARLA, "We are pleased to welcome cmRENT into membership of ARLA. Professional letting agents such as these who are committed to promoting the highest standards in residential lettings help our Association to strengthen the Private Rented Sector and to drive out the dishonest and cowboy agents who too frequently prey on an unsuspecting public".
Michael Saville of cmRENT said 'We have constantly strived to provide a quality professional letting service to our customers and our recent acceptance by ARLA confirms this commitment to our Landlords & Tenants.'
In August 2007 Michael Saville & Susannah Saville both passed the ARLA Competency Test to ensure continuing memebrship of the Association of Residential Letting Agents. Both Michael & Susannah passed well above the required 60% minimum level (achieving 85% & 78.5% respectively). Laura Wilkins also passed the ARLA Competency Test in November 2007 assuring our Landlords & Tenants of our legal knowledge and practical approach in all matters of Letting.
