Utility Bills

In all of our rented properties, the Tenant will be responsible for the payment of all utility bills to include;

  • Electricity
  • Gas
  • Water (sometimes paid by the Landlord in blocks of flats)
  • Council Tax
  • TV licence
  • TelephoneMeter Reading

If cmRENT are managing the property, just prior to your move-in day we will take the meter readings for Electric, Water & Gas and we will advise those utility suppliers and the local Conucil Tax department of your details, your move-in date and any meter readings. We will also take final meter readings at the end of your tenancy and close off your bills, transferring them back to your Landlord.

If we are not managing your property we would advise both the Tenant & Landlord to take the meter readings and advise the utility companies yourself.

It will be the Tenant's responsibility to obtain a TV licence and have a telephone line activated or connected if required. In brand new properties, the telephone line is rarely connected, therefore, the Tenant will be responsible for the initial connection charge if required.
